Picnic in the Vineyard on Easter Monday

NEWS FROM THE VINEYARD

Spring has Arrived

We’re a little behind with the pruning—the February rains slowed our work in the vineyard. On the bright side, the cover crops (sovescio) made the most of the rainwater and the first spring sun, and now the rows are in full bloom. Spring in Tuscany is always a vibrant rainbow of colors and scents.

As the days grow longer, the season for Wine Tastings and Picnic in the Vineyard officially begins! If you haven’t joined us yet, visit our new webpage dedicated to all the experiences waiting for you among these hills.

Take the chance to spend a few days nestled in the vineyards, staying in one of the Villa rooms or the apartments at Casale Il Poggetto.

Many cyclists have already discovered the Terre di Pisa, and our hills offer countless trails perfect for gravel, e-bike, and MTB enthusiasts.

or choose us as a stopover on your Tuscan cycling journey!
Spring brings many riders to our “strade bianche” (white roads)—especially this year, with the Terre di Pisa Bike Days in April.
Pieve de’ Pitti is the perfect pit-stop: a comfortable bed, a hot shower, and finally, some well-deserved rest.
We’ve designed something special for you: at sunset, a private spot among the vines, a bottle of our wine, and homemade appetizers. No other guests, no noise. Just the silence of the hills and the shifting light.
We call it Vineyard Watching — and it’s worth the trip all on its own.

NEWS FROM THE CELLAR

Easter is coming, and the table is calling!

Spring brings with it the long-awaited new vintages of our wines: leading the way are Aprilante 2025 and Rossato 2025, ready for your Easter celebrations!Con la primavera arrivano immancabili le nuove annate dei nostri vini!
in prima fila Aprilante 2025 e Rossato 2025, pronti per la vostra tavola di Pasqua!

If there’s one dish that tells the story of a Tuscan Easter better than any other, it’s roasted lamb—fragrant with rosemary, garlic, and white wine, served with potatoes that soak up every flavor until they turn golden. It’s a simple, ancient dish, impossible to get wrong if you start with quality ingredients.
And the wine? It has to be Cerretello.
Our Chianti Superiore (Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Malvasia Nera) is fermented and aged in the concrete vats of our historic cellar. This is a “Chianti of memories,” the kind we’ve known since childhood: bright red, fruity, with that freshness and minerality that cleanse the palate and invite the next bite. The Sangiovese tannins cut through the richness of the lamb, while the savory finish closes every sip with rustic elegance. It’s a pairing that just works, no explanation needed.

For the more adventurous palates, Solatjo is finally back in the bottle.
The small berries of Petit Verdot deliver great acidity even in our clay soils—a less traditional pairing, but incredibly intriguing.

As for the recipe for the roasted lamb? Well, for that, you’ll have to ask Ida…
