Biking to Pietracassia

If nobody has ever told you about the Rocca di Pietracassia, this is your chance to spend a memorable day visiting the ruins of the ancient castle with a superb view of the Tuscan coast, the Elba Island, the Argentario, the Tower Pisa, Volterra and the towers of San Gimignano, the Apuan Alps and the Apennines, enjoying the panorama and the taste of the Tuscan food, with a glass of Chianti!

We discovered this magical place when the path was still buried in the trenches and the access to the castle was impervious and dangerous.
The town of Lajatico has recently promoted the restoration of this splendid X century architecture that is finally open to the public once again.

The easiest and fastest way to reach the Rocca di Pietracassia, that is perched on a rock spur on the top of the Miemo hill, is riding to the top with your MTB or E-bike.
We are happy to offer you this full-day tour, if you prefer, we will ride toghether with you to the summit, telling you about the history of this fortress or we welcome you at Pieve de’ Pitti for a Picnic in the Vineyard based on local products and Pieve de’ Pitti wines.
