The name Pieve de’ Pitti comes from the parish church of Saint. John of Pava, built on the ruins of an Etruscan church, and from the Florentine Pitti family, who was the owner of the property until the end of the XVII century. Nowadays, the Villa and the church overlook Volterra and the hills to the sea, surrounded by the park and the pool and by our Sangiovese vineyards.
The Villa has 5 large bedrooms furnished in original style and equipped with every comfort that have been completely renovated in 2010 when we first opened the doors of our B&B.
We restored some of the ancient furniture and disclosed the old fresco, the vaulted ceilings and the exquisite handmade majolica paving: each room tells you a piece of the history of Pieve de’ Pitti, with different colours and styles
It’s an ideal location for a short stay in the countryside, cuddled by our warm family welcome.
Enjoy the breakfast in the park, then be ready to walk, ride or drive through the Lands of Pisa, to discover beautiful landscape, unexpected small Tuscan villages and the genuine taste of our products. Or, just lay under the sun, by the pool, with a glass of cold white wine and relax. The silence of the countryside will lull you.
If you’re looking for a relaxing break in an exclusive, charming and pleasure-filled atmosphere, then look no further.
We strongly suggest our guest to drive to Pieve de’ Pitti on their own or to rent a car. The farm is 2,5 km far from the nearest bus station , next shops are located 4 km far from the house and taxi service is not easily available in the area.
If you do not have your own car, you’re almost blocked at Pieve de’ Pitti, that’s not so bad ;-), but you need to buy all the necessary items you might need during your stay before arriving.
